Artist's Description

Taken in East Sooke Park, Sooke BC. Gooseneck barnacles, which grow on the rocks below the high tide line off the British Columbia coastline, are prized in Spain and served as appetizers by high-end restaurants across North America. They are hand-picked off the coast of Vancouver Island by the Nuu-chah-nulth First Nation. The Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations tribe have been harvesting them for generations
